Hi everyone!  My name is Julie and I am the owner and photographer at Julie Lynn Photography. When I am not working, you can find me playing the role of a mom and wife to my five (yes you read that correctly...5!) amazing children and husband.  I was born and raised in South Carolina which is where I also gave birth to my first born child.  At the age of 20, I moved to Hawaii where I would discover a new love for photography in the beauty of the island of Oahu.  There was always something captivating to photograph there!  We lived on the island for 4 years and that is where both my boys were born.  Eight months after my youngest son was born is when I moved to Kansas and have been here ever since.  Kansas has brought two more of my beautiful children into my life as well as a wonderful man I'm lucky enough to call my husband.

I began photography professionally in fall of 2012 and it has been such an an amazing ride ever since!  Although I have so much yet to learn, I cannot imagine my life without this journey. One of my favorite parts about being a photographer is getting to know my clients!  Being able to capture the love when parents hold their new precious baby, the silly smiles and giggles of a toddler being chased by their parents, or the emotional journey of saying goodbye to a sick loved one.  After the loss of my dad in June of 2018 and the loss of my sister in December of 2021, I know now more than ever, how important it is to capture all the little memories that will one day be BIG memories!

Fun Facts about me:

I LOVE TO TRAVEL. It can be a quick flight back east, a 20 hour car ride to the desert, or a short trip to Branson.  Just tell me when and I am there.

While I LOVE to travel the beach is my happy place. I grew up on the water every weekend and I feel a deep connection with the ocean. It's where I go when I need to heal.

My hometown was VERY small with only 3k people. The closest Walmart was 30 minutes away (yes we tell distance with time in the south).

Both of my parents owed businesses.  My mom owned the only bakery in town (besides the grocery stores) and my dad owned an auto body shop.

My only living grandparent is my mom's mom (we call her Nanny) and she is 100 years old.

My husband and I celebrated our 11 year anniversary this year with a trip to see my grandma for her 100th birthday!

I value time way more than I value money.  Time is one of the only things in life we can't get back.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope I get the opportunity to capture your memories soon!
