When should I book a newborn session?
Book your newborn session when you hit your 3rd trimester and schedule the appointment for 1-2 weeks past your due date. This secures you a spot on my calendar before it sells out. Of course, we don't know exactly when baby will arrive, so we can always adjust your appointment date if needed.  

How old should my baby be for newborn photos?
Newborns should be 21 days or less at the time of their scheduled appointment. In the event that baby is a preemie or a micropreemie, please contact me to discuss as we have more wriggle room to work with. 

Do you edit photos?
Yes! 

What kind of editing do you do?
As a general rule of thumb, anything that cannot be controlled by the client will be edited. Example: cars passing by, strangers in the background, acne (if requested), scratches, bruises, sweat on clothing, drool, lighting adjustments, etc. 

What editing is NOT included?
As a general rule of thumb, anything that could have been prevented by the client will not be edited unless and additional editing fee is paid. Example: changing clothing colors, head swapping, removing tan lines, removing bra straps, changing lip color, removing wrinkles from clothes, adjusting haircolor, body contouring, fixing fingernails, etc.

Can I have the RAW or UNEDITED photos?
No, I NEVER give RAW or UNEDITED photos to anyone.  These are considered unfinished work.

Can I get extra photos?
Yes! If you would like more images than what is included in your package, they can be purchased for $10 each.

What time of day should I schedule outdoor photos?
Please book all outdoor sessions 1.5 hours before sunset or within 1.5 hours of sunrise. NO mid-day outdoor sessions. 

Do you take appointment on weekends?
Yes, Saturday appointments are available but are always the first to sell out.

When can I book sunflower photos?
Most sunflower fields are in bloom the end of August thru early September. However, it really just depends on when the flowers are planted and the weather.  I cannot guarantee and exact bloom date.

When is the best time for fall foliage?
The weather drastically affects when the trees will turn, how colorful they will be, and how long the foliage will last. Typically middle of October thru the middle of November is the sweet spot. However, I always say some foliage is better than no foliage so booking earlier rather than later is usually the best plan.

Can I book an outdoor session any month of the year?
Yes! I shoot outdoor sessions year round.  Keep in mind that the weather here can be warm one day and extremely cold the next! Little one's usually don't do well if it is too cold. So if you decide you want outdoor pics in the colder months PLEASE dress the kids in layers. You can do footed cotton tights under pants with socks and boots/shoes. You can do long sleeve fitted pajama tops under long sleeve sweaters, add cute neutral colored hats, gloves, and even cute jackets.  Don't be afraid to do lots of layers under their photo outfit. It helps to keep them warm and smiling while shooting outdoors in the cooler months. 

What happens if the weather is bad the day of my session?
Sometimes, the bad weather moves out before the scheduled appointment time. So if you are able to play it by ear, that is typically best. However, I will reach out to you and we will make a decision to reschedule based on your availability as well as mine.

Do you charge another booking fee/retainer if we reschedule due to weather?
No! I never charge a fee to reschedule due to weather if the weather is going to be a problem.

What happens if my child wakes up sick the day of the appointment?
Just contact me ASAP and we will reschedule. Please DO NOT bring your kid to the appointment sick! It always happens a few times a year and it never goes well.  Just reschedule. 

When do you charge for reschedules?
I only charge for reschedules if 72 hours notice is not given and the reschedule is due to a date conflict. Example: Kids baseball schedule just came out and you need to reschedule but your appointment is tomorrow. I can't fill that appointment spot on such short notice, therefore I do charge another booking fee/retainer.

What happens if I am late to my appointment?
The appointment starts at the scheduled appointment time. Most days I shoot multiple sessions and clients running late throws me off schedule.  I CANNOT give you extra time if you are late.  PLEASE DON'T BE LATE. If you booked a 1 hour appointment starting at 5pm, that appointment starts at 5pm. If you arrive at 5:30 you will only get a 30 minute session and will be charged for the full hour session. 

What happens if I miss my appointment or get the date/time mixed up?
You will have to pay an additional booking fee/retainer to get another date.

When can I expect my photos after my appointment?
Typically photos are returned 2 weeks after the shoot date for selecting. Once images have been selected they are usually returned for downloading within 24-48 hours. Fall/winter months are the busiest months of the year so turn around times may be a bit longer during this time. If you need your photos by a specific date, please let me know at the time of booking.
